Lighting
Posts related to lighting events for Lumen Event Lighting.

Kaity & Brandon got married and had their reception at Marc Events in the Dallas Design District. We were asked to help by their day-of planner, Susan Strauss of Event Studio.
We lit up the place with both uplights and pinspots on all the centerpieces. Pictures coming soon, and we can’t wait to see them. The photographer was Sarah Kate Barger.
Guests came in for the reception and enjoyed cocktail hour with the Picstrips.com Photo Booth. Pictures have been posted and you can get to them through this link.
The event was awesome. Great guests, great planner, great photos. More on the story as it progresses…

Review for our DJ Greg Michaels.

I never got the opportunity to blog about Tracy and Steven's wedding ceremony and reception because it took until about three months ago for me to finally get the pictures. Better late than never, so here we go.
Shari Johns with
As You Wish gave me a call to help with Tracy and Steven's wedding at
Marie Gabrielle Restaurant in Uptown Dallas. She did a great job at explaining that Tracy's personality is larger than life and that definately came through both her and Steven's vision of how they wanted their wedding to be.
Insider Commentary by Randal Stout The ceremony included mariachis playing and a solo by a guitar player, and of course a sound system that I dare you to find in the picture above. We hid those speakers out of sight. On the minister, Marty Younkin of
Love Notes Weddings, we have a wireless microphone as well as our groom Steven.

There are so many neat details that went into the decor. For me, we were asked to do the sound for the ceremony, I was the MC/DJ for the reception and then Lumen did the lighting.

I've always wondered what Lisa thinks when I cover up the sign that says Marie Gabrielle. Here is our dance floor. We brought in our white pipe and drape and then uplit it with LEDs which we are able to change colors throughout the evening. On the drape we put Steven's initial B which was in the font that appeared on their invitation.

Edward Ramirez, Mike and ReJana Krause and Melissa Nieswiadomy of BluDoor Studios threw an awesome open house! Planning was handled by Marla Watson-Werst of PeaPod Group.
The studio was transformed and decked out to show just how good of a job these photographers can do!
We were asked to provide the lighting for the studio. In addition, Randal Stout was the disc jockey for the party which lasted until almost 3AM!
The Picstrips.com Photo Booth was on-hand both nights. To view pictures of Senior Night, click here. To view pictures from the Open house, click here.

Meredith Liewehr, owner of the DFW Perfect Wedding Guide magazine asked us to help with her biggest party yet, the 10th Anniversary Party of the Guide in our area. Meredith and her husband Jason purchased the DFW franchise from Tim Chisolm approximately two years ago.
The event was held at NTX Auto Museum in Richardson. The theme for the event was “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. The ballroom at NTX is HUGE! So huge in fact, that the planner Marla Watson-Werst asked Quest Drape to cordon it off to bring it down to size. Our company lit the perimeter of the room with Tiffany blue lights and placed the new PWG logo on the wall as guests entered.
In addition we provided the Picstrips.com Photo Booth. To see the booth photos from the event, click here.
The team for the party was huge and also included: Catering by Marc DePetris of Marc Events, bar service by Ray Thomas of RayTini, Ruthie Stivers of Delicious Cakes, Shana Thomas of The Urban Blossom, LiveWire Special Events, TLC Rentals, Celebration Event Rental, Hampton-Morrow Photography and BluDoor Studios.
Congratulations to Christina & Andrew Tirbeni on their wedding! These two were so much fun in getting to know. Andrew needs to be a part of the Randal Stout Entertainment team.
Their wedding reception was at the
City Club of Fort Worth and their high school friend, Sarah Wright was the coordinator for them at the club.
We received a link to the highlights video from the wedding! Here is Adrianne’s work!

Congratulations to Amanda and Anthony!
We helped them with their reception at the place where Amanda works, the
Renaissance Worthington in downtown Fort Worth.
It was an all-star cast! Randal Stout was the disc jockey and master of ceremonies, our lighting company Lumen provided the lighting for the room, our Picstrips.com photo booth was there as well. Coordination was provided by Kristyn Hall of
Event Elements. Floral was provided by Tami Winn of
A Magic Moment.
The photo booth pictures may be seen online
here.
Congratulations Jessica & Chris! One of the funnest parties we've had a chance to help with. Pictures from the event are online
here.
Jessica & Chris had a great wedding at the
Old Red Museum in downtown Dallas. Kristyn Hall with
Event Elements provided the day-of coordination for wedding and did a fabulous job!
Randal Stout was the disc jockey and master of ceremonies and the party was more of a frat party than a wedding reception! We like it that way! Lighting was provided by our company, Lumen, as we showed off the packages that are now incorporated into Old Red's portfolio.
Highlights of the evening: Jessica & Chris had an awesome choreographed first dance to "Boom Boom Boom" by the Black-Eyed Peas ala MTV's Rock The Reception. Towards the end of the evening the "prop box" made it's appearance, filled with all kinds of goodies that Jessica & Chris brought with them. Cheesey? Not with this crowd--they wanted to party!

We provided the lighting for the room and the plasma screen and projection screen. In the room we placed the ice blue uplights around the pereimeter, shined the retro stars on the floor and lit each of the large posters showing the stories of those that have benefitted from the Dallas Hearing Foundation.
Paul Dyer of
VIM Studio was nice enough to provide us with the photos that you see here.
The next event for
Sounds of the Season is the Gala scheduled to be held on December 19th, 2009 at Union Station in Dallas. It is going to be an incredible production!
Kathryn and Jack had their wedding ceremony and reception at
Marie Gabrielle Restaurant in Uptown. We always enjoy working with Lisa Yarbro and her staff. The food there is amazing if you have never been. Funny thing, my brother worked in that building for years and never ate on the fine dining side of the restaurant to know about the food.
Shari Johns of
As You Wish was our wedding planner and helped put together a great time of individuals to make things happen. The team included me to DJ both the wedding ceremony and reception and lighting. Jennifer Yarbro of
Jennifer Yarbro Photography did an outstanding job with photos, as witnessed by the photos she gave me to put in this post.

Shown here officiating is Marty Younkin of
Love Notes Weddings. We do approxmiately 20 to 30 ceremonies per year and we seem to do the majority of them with his company, and more often than not, Marty himself. He does have about fifteen ministers on his staff besides himself.
This wedding shows off the true beauty of the restaurant. The lighting that we did is very zen. The pictures show our Chinese lanterns hung outside on the patio above guest seating. Inside, Robin Brogan of Your Perfect Wedding by DiFiori created stunning centerpieces which we were asked to light. You will see other examples of our work at Marie Gabrielle which show just how much different the restaurant can be transformed elsewhere in our blog.
